Obituary of Margaret Elaine Schelter


Schelter, Margaret

Passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Nithview LTC, New Hamburg at the age of 83, where she enjoyed a view of the Nith River that she grew up beside, until she met Jack and St. Jacobs became her community. Cherished wife of the late Jack Schelter (1998).

Loving mother of John and Sheryl Schelter, Julie Schelter, Bonnie Schelter-Brown and Richard; and grandma of Melissa, Emily and Nathan.

Dear sister of Jerry and Joyce Roth, Betty Gingrich, Karen Davidson, Kim Roth, Sharon and Don Wilhelm and sister-in-law of Butch and Betty Schelter, and Helen Schelter. Marg will be missed by her nieces, nephews, friends, church community, and all of the special people who called her “Grandma Marg”.

Predeceased by her parents Milton and Melinda (Yantzi) Roth, sisters Mae Beale, Helen Mary Roth, and Jane Roth, brothers James Roth and John Roth, brothers-in-law Larry Gingrich and Hubba Schelter, and sisters-in-law Margot Schelter and Lucie Brenneman.

Visitation will take place from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. To register for visitation please call the funeral home at 519-669-2207. Masks are mandatory, please remain in your vehicles until an attendant invites you in.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2210 Perth Line 29, Tavistock. Please call the funeral home to register your attendance for the service. Masks are mandatory. Private family interment to follow.

Donations to St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs or Elmira District Community Living would be appreciated, and can be made through the funeral home.
