Thinking of the Schelter family and extending our deepest sympathies. Our children will remember your mother as "Mrs. Claus" at the HH Christmas parties for children. As a church family member we remember the countless kettles of soups and other dishes she prepared for us, one of which was her taco salad, which I learned to make from her and have taken to our family picnics and Christmas dinners for the last 20+ years. She was a wise woman and graced me with many sound pieces of advice which I treasure and draw on.. Ken & Rose Metzger

Our deepest condolences to John, Julie, and Bonnie and your families. Auntie Marg was so kind and thoughtful to everyone she loved. I have so many memories I will always treasure from egg dying, canning pickled beets, and pop in visits where we had strong coffee and homemade treats. It was so nice to sit and talk with her and share a laugh. I always appreciated what a great listener she was. My kids treasure the memory of the homemade teddy bears she made for all of the kids at Christmas one year. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Technically my step-grandmother, Gramma Marg was my stand in gramma when my maternal grandmother died when I was 10. When I had no grandmother figures in my life, she was the one to be there and act as a perfect example of what a grandmother should be— Kind, gentle, loving, always greeting me with a “Hi Emmie!”. I will miss her peanut butter balls, “worms and mud”, delicious Christmas dinners, and the taste of cream soda will always remind me of visiting her home. Though she knew my daughter Evelyn for a short time, she was always very happy to be a great gramma and was so good with her. We will miss her very much. I know she is happy to be reunited with her late husband Jack in heaven, and can only imagine the happiness they are sharing to finally be together again. Love you gramma!

To Bonnie, Julie, John and your families,
Such a loss. Your mom was a fine example of kindness, warmth, generosity, and a genuine desire to help people. I’m sure there is no way to ever know how many lives she touched in ways that were uplifting and memorable. Rest assured that her legacy lives on in you in the many ways you serve your communities in meaningful ways.

Marg was a beautiful lady, heart of gold. My deepest sympathy to her family and to all who new her. Her sister Janie use to live with Marg and Jack for several years before Jane moved into the Assisted living Centre of EDCL. When Jane worked at ARC Industries, I use to see Marg often. I remember the year that Marg and Jack invited several of us staff for a Christmas evening of celebration and a meal to remember for sure. Marg shared several of her recipes with me and they continue to be a big tradition in my own family till this day. May you rest in peace Marg. Your kindness will surely be missed.

Sending my deepest sympathies to Bonnie and the rest of the Schelter family. I have known Margaret and Jack my whole life, and my memories of Jack were that he always made me laugh, and Marg - well Marg was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever known. Several years ago, I lived close to them on Hawkesville Road, and I sat in the same pew as Marg in church. I will miss her so much. She always had kind words to say.
Thinking of you,
Sally Jane Roberts

Thinking of our Aunty Margaret today. Got to share a good story with the kids about her and how fast she could clean the tops off the strawberries with that callus thumb, the knife never touched the cutting board. Faster than I could eat them up! We could use a hand getting through all the beans today no doubt.

Amid many good memories of Auntie Marg this has held the most regard since Jon and I were married in 1997. Loving and skilled hands made this beautiful quilt that we have used over the years. I recall going to her place in St Jacobs and she had several quilts that we were allowed to choose from… It was very special and meaningful. Much more recently, I’m so thankful that she was able to to say some words on my birthday video that was so thoughtfully put together! I will miss you! Love to all the family. Xo
