MEET OUR DIRECTORS

REBECCA STECKLY

Becky is one of the owners, and the managing director at the Dreisinger Funeral Home. She first joined Dreisingers to assist with administration, and quickly discovered an enthusiasm for funeral service. Becky then attended Humber College to obtain her funeral director’s licence, where she was the recipient of the Dodge Award for Restorative Arts, the Foundation 45 Award, the John Finn Memorial award, and the Funeral Service Association of Canada Scholarship. Following her schooling, Becky returned to Dreisingers to serve the community as a licensed director with Monty and Grace, until purchasing the funeral home with Laura in 2020. Her focus on family values along with her commitment to continuing education enable her to create unique and meaningful services for each and every family.

LAURA RILEY

Laura is one of the owners at the Dreisinger Funeral Home. She is honoured to join Becky and Grace in serving the Elmira community as a funeral director. After graduating at the top of her class from the Humber College Funeral Service Education program, Laura then honed her skills at a family-owned funeral home. She was the recipient of the Turner & Porter Award for Academic Achievement, and the Academic Award of Excellence in Funeral Service at Humber College. Her prior professional background in design adds extra creativity to her work as a funeral director. Laura's friendly disposition and compassionate nature are appreciated by the families she serves.

GRACE MAHER

Grace has been a funeral director at the Dreisinger Funeral Home for over 50 years, serving Elmira and the surrounding community her entire career. She is the great-granddaughter of Christian Dreisinger, the company's founder, and brings warmth, dedication, and caring guidance to each and every family she meets. Grace is a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Elmira.

MONTY STEENSON

Monty has been a funeral director for over 40 years. He and his wife Karen purchased the Dreisinger Funeral Home in 2009, and operated it until their retirement in September 2020. He is a member of Gale Presbyterian Church, Kiwanis Club of Elmira, and is a volunteer board member of the Woolwich Counselling Centre. Even though he is now enjoying retirement, he is still a valuable part of the funeral home staff on a part time basis.

LES HAMMEL

Les is a wonderful funeral director who is now enjoying semi-retirement, and we're fortunate to have him on the Dreisinger team. He is an Elmira resident, a proud grandfather, an active member of Gale Presbyterian Church, and the embodiment of kindness and compassion.
