Obituary of Melinda Brubacher

Peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, Melinda entered into the loving arms of her Savior at the age of 71 after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of Allan Brubacher, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Devoted mother to Rosanne and Dave Wishart, Jeff and Sharon Brubacher, Brad and Lisa Brubacher. Adoring grandma to Anita, Amber, Alysha (Anthony); Kyle (Miranda) and Ashley (Jordan); Brandon (Kirstin) and Tyler; and great-grandma to Owen and Kyla. Melinda is also the cherished daughter of Leah Mayville. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law Menno and Barb Brubacher, Henry and Audrey Brubacher, Levi and Wendy Brubacher, Dan and Laurie Brubacher.
Predeceased by her father Amos Brubacher and her sister Annie in infancy.
Melinda was a devoted and passionate healthcare provider at Chartwell Elmira Long Term Care Residence for 45 years. She will be missed dearly by her friends and former colleagues there. She was a longtime, faithful member of International Gospel Centre in Kitchener, where she joyfully worshiped in the church choir. She was devoted to her family and exemplified what it means to love God and love others.
Visitation will take place on Friday July 9, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. To register your attendance, please call the funeral home at 519-669-2207. Masks are mandatory; please remain in your vehicle until an attendant invites you in.
A livestreamed memorial service will take place on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. and can be accessed on Melinda’s tribute page of the funeral home website. In memory of Melinda, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family, and can be made through the funeral home.
