So many memories and good family times spent at the cottage, listening and enjoying Aunt Elaine's hardy laugh. Her special visits to my mom, her only sister and the very special privilege of having her as my God-mother. Rest in Peace Aunt Elaine.

I am saddened of course to hear of Aunt Elaine's passing. We are all diminished by the loss of a good person. As I am a bit younger I cannot recall, in the same vivid detail as cousin Terry a time spend with Aunt Elaine and the Fogett family but I can recall an event. A warm afternoon in a pleasant place. To my cousins, on behalf of my family, please accept our condolences and I hope you will find solace in knowing that we grieve with you.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Elaine. As I read the obit, I realized how little I knew of any of my aunts and uncles. To say that one was so much like the other would be gross understatement . The differences in personalities from what I remember is truly remarkable. All were unique in their own way. Thus making the cousin's lack of a relationship a little easier to understand.
I have but one memory that goes back some 40 plus years. Bear with me - and please correct me if I have been mistaken. Usually when recalling memories from that long ago they are either dark or pleasant. This definitely is pleasant. It starts with a short drive then crossing over a steel structured bridge that no one would jump off of. Take a first right, a relatively long winding lane, corn fields obstructed the view, a small wooden cottage weathered. I recall very little of the inside - just those long sticky fly traps that hung from the ceiling. I must have stayed outside more. There was a loo tucked away out back and a massive weeping willow that two budding starlets sat on. And I remember that why ? Because neither my sister nor Sandra would allow me to join them. Steps down the river bank to a dock there was a wooden boat with an outboard motor. A rope pull start, no recoil, so a whole lot of rewinding. Not sure it worked very well. And how could one forget the dog. A shepherd that roamed freely.
Fond memories.
Rest in peace Aunt Elaine.
Terry
