Professor Ward was an amazing mentor, a passionate teacher, and a truly wonderful human in all and every way. He has inspired generations of scientists, healthcare workers, and curious minds in his witty and playful nature.
I will never forget my very first class at the University of Waterloo, and I continue to smile whenever I think I of the overhead projector which he refused to abandon year after year.
Rest In Peace Prof! Thanks for the memories and the joke-filled office hours, which I continued to go to even after finishing my degree. Your memory will live on.
Alan C.

Glenn is a dear and close friend and I will carry the memory of him with me as I always have. We were colleagues a couple decades ago, both getting our legs doing postdoctoral work and sharing our thoughts. He possessed an intellectual confidence that he used to respectfully extend himself to others and he worked diligently in his quest after truth through his own discoveries. May his family receive some consolation in knowing that his personal quest for truth and goodness are helping others to keep faith in their own endeavors to help shape a more just existence.

To Dr. Ward’s family, my sincerest condolences. I always appreciated Dr. Ward’s use of humor in his lectures and in imparting his many memorable life lessons. Always generous with his time, he made great efforts to support and encourage his students in the pursuit of their own dreams. Dr. Ward was an engaging professor, a positive role model and a wise mentor, and he will be missed.

Dr Ward was a kind and thoughtful man. As one of his Health Studies students (2003-2008), I have always remembered his life lessons in his lectures and his personal stories and life advice. He was always just so genuine and thoughtful. He had such a great sense of humour. He cared, just truly cared for us as his students. Even had us over at his house at the end of undergrad to celebrate. My sincerest condolences and thoughts to his family, he always spoke about you with such love.

He will be missed in the arena and at the soccer fields.
He leaves behind family that loves him and a community that will miss him.

My condolences - I trained with Glenn 16-20 years ago, but those memories are fresh as he made a huge impact. He was always patient and had a great mentoring style - relaxed and fun, intellectually curious, while also instilling a strong sense of work ethic and integrity. It was also clear he was a family person; he regularly talked with much pride about you all. My sympathies to you at this time, Todd

Dr. Ward was one of the best professors I've had. He taught my very first ever university class and was there from day one as I started out at the University of Waterloo. He brought an enthusiasm and sense of humor to every class he taught. Whenever I visited his office hours for help, he consistently took the time to chat with and get to know every student who queued up to see him, something I didn't realise wasn't typical until I had other courses where the profs weren't all that interested in taking hours of their time every week to get to know their students on a personal level.
He, having written a reference letter for me for my medical school application, is also literally always going to be a huge part of the reason that I am where I am today, and when I'm a doctor I will always have him to thank for not only helping me get into medical school, but for helping me decide that healthcare was an area I wanted to spend the rest of my life working in.
He was also, despite being so busy with his university work, someone who never failed to put his family first. His daughter played on my sister's soccer and hockey teams, and so he was a professor that ensured I couldn't escape him even by going to the rink or soccer field. His love for his family and how proud he was of them was always so clear, and it brightened my day to run into him at the soccer field, at the rink, and on campus. He was such a genuinely nice person, and will be so missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
His family are all in my thoughts and prayers and in the thoughts and prayers of all of us in the Wang family.
