Obituary of Robert Alexander McKeag

McKeag, Robert Alex "Bob" Passed away, with his loving wife and best friend, for 63 years, and family by his side, on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Bob was the beloved husband of Grace (Toms) McKeag of Elmira. He will be remembered by his daughters Katherine (Kitty) and Roy (Buck) Stahle of Listowel, Corylin (Cory) McKeag and Ron of Alberta, and his son Jason and his fiancée Lynn of Hamilton; his grandchildren Rick (Monica) Stahle, Rob (Jessica) Stahle, and great-granddaughters Lacey and Ebony Stahle. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Bob started work at Metro Toronto News Company and was promoted to supervisor and then manager of the magazine wholesale division. In the 70s he was manager of New London Distributors. He spent his last 20 years as General Manager, Vice President and part owner of Kitchener News Company in Waterloo. He was a Past Master of Glenrose Lodge AF & AM 628, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for the past 40 years, and he was also an avid cribbage player. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Private family interment in Elmira Union Cemetery and reception to follow.
