MARTIN, Herman W.
August 3, 1925 – January 9, 2018
Passed away into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Herman Martin, age 92 years, of Wallenstein, was the beloved husband of the late Minerva (Martin) Martin (January 7, 2013). Devoted father to Loreen (Bob) Bauman of Elmira, Dorothy (Ralph) Schultz of Stratford, Cecil (Wendy) Martin of Wallenstein, Ruby (Mike) Wilson of Kitchener, Leon Martin and Michelle of Floradale, Robert (Susan) Martin of Bath, David (Norma) Martin of Wallenstein, and Ken (Debbie) Martin of Wallenstein. Lovingly remembered by his 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brothers Enoch of Waterloo and Amsey (Leona) of New Hamburg. Brother-in-law to Hannah Martin of Carthage, Rebecca Martin of Hawkesville, and Alice Shantz of Elmira. Predeceased by his parents Enoch F. and Elizabeth (Weber) Martin, sisters Leah (Emmanuel) Frey, Maryann Wideman (Alvin and Manassah), and Lovina (Ernie) Bearinger, brothers Ervin (Susannah), Moses (Mary and Angeline), and Edwin (Susannah), sister-in-law Sarah Martin, and brothers-in-law Alvin Weber, Manassah Wideman and Ernie Bearinger. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will take place on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Hawkesville Cemetery, to be followed at 2 p.m. by the funeral service at Wallenstein Bible Chapel, 4522 Herrgott Road, Wallenstein. As expressions of sympathy, donations to New Life Prison Ministry or Listowel Bible Chapel would be appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate and tender care of Herman.
