Obituary of Ronald Earl Lorch
Lorch, Ronald Earl ~ Passed away peacefully at his home in Elmira on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the age of 84 years. Ron Lorch is lovingly remembered by his brother Rev. Ab Lorch of Kitchener and his nieces and nephews: Sandra (John) Marquardt, Steven (Wendy) Allen, Brian (Rhonda) Lorch, Susan (Bud) McDermott, Nancy (Craig) Robson, Tom (Lee) McKee, Valerie (Paul) McKee, Vicki (Nick) Pereira, Scott (Nicole) McKee, Tracey (Robert) McKee, Cyndie (Rodney) Timpano, Jill (Evan) Lorch, and Stephanie Lorch. Predeceased by his good friend Ellie Steele and fondly remembered by her family: Marguerite (the late David) Steele, Brian (Pat) Steele, Al (Cheryl) Steele, Ronnie (Mary) Steele, John (Peggy) Steele, Susan (Michael) Bonacci, and Paul Lippert. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Sylvia (Snyder) Lorch, brother Wilfred (Ruth) Lorch, sisters Kay (Steve) Allen and Shirley (David) McKee, and sister-in-law Ruth Lorch. Ron was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church in Elmira, acting as its treasurer for many years. He was a past member of the Elmira Lions Club and Elmira Rod & Gun Club. Ron, a diehard Blue Jays and Leafs fan, was also passionate about travelling. He toured the world in his retirement but was the happiest when he could drive the open highway in the comfort of his gold Cadillac. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 60 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Elmira. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. James Lutheran Church Elmira, or CLWR (Canadian Lutheran World Relief) would be appreciated.
