Obituary of Calvin Grant Cressman

Cressman, Calvin "Cal" Passed away peacefully after a 6½ year battle with cancer on Monday, October 31, 2016 at KW Campus of Grand River Hospital with his beloved wife of 51 years, Janice (Martin) Cressman, by his side. Loved father of Mark (Monica) of Elmira and Michael (Gary Zehr) of Elora. Loving grandpa of Zach and Tina. Dear brother of Naomi (Milt) Shoemaker, Mary Musselman, and Violet Martin. Brother-in-law of Isobel (Mahlon) Frey and Ken (Arleta) Martin. Predeceased by his parents Eden M. and Laura (Dettwiler) Cressman, sister Beatrice (in infancy), brothers-in-law Marshall Musselman, Lloyd Martin, and Edward Martin. Cal was a loyal employee of Home Hardware Stores Ltd. for over 40 years. Cal was one of the two original voices of the Glad Tidings Quartet and more recently a member of the Twin City Harmonizers. Cal was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. A special thanks to Dr. Hubay and the oncology staff at Grand River Hospital for their excellent care. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St. N., St. Jacobs. Interment will follow in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. In Cal's memory, donations to Mennonite Central Committee or Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
