Obituary of Norman Weber
Weber, Norman R. ~ September 27, 1922 – October 2, 2016 ~
Five days after his 94th birthday celebrated with lots of cake, laughter and four generations of his family, Norm went home to be with his Lord. Norm was a generous and supportive member of the Elmira community and Elmira Mennonite Church. He drove school bus, was a driver instructor, and was president of the local Red Cross. After the War, he was a seafaring cowboy, bringing relief horses to Poland. He farmed in Elmira for most of his life, and began Norman Weber Poultry, which later became Pullets Plus. His positive attitude and generous heart will be missed by his children and grandchildren, Bruce and Marj Weber (Josh Weber, Hannah and Daniel Harms), Cheryl and Richard Good (Ben and Christina Good, Susanna and Jonathan Compton), Valerie and Gord Alton (Derek, David, and Emily Alton), Andrea and Jamie Weber Steckly; his great-grandchildren Isabella Good and Malcolm Compton; and his siblings Allan Weber and Elsie Clemmer. Predeceased by his dear wife of nearly 65 years, Sue (Brubacher) Weber (April 2016), parents Aaron and Esther (Reesor) Weber, and siblings Melvin and Esther Weber, Edwin and Emma Weber, Joyce Weber, and Abner Clemmer. Norm's family is very grateful for the supportive staff at Chartwell, and for the wonderful pastors, elders and members of Elmira Mennonite Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Interment will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of his life will follow at 2 p.m. at Elmira Mennonite Church, 58 Church St. W., Elmira.
