Obituary of Dorothy Shillington

Shillington, Dorothy Theresa ~ On Friday, September 2, 2016 at Hospice Wellington (Guelph), our quiet yet remarkable wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully after a two month journey with cancer, in her 90th year. Dorothy, formerly of Waterloo and for the last 25 years Port Dalhousie, Ontario, was the loving wife of John Shillington for 62 years. Mother of Tom (Stephanie) of Kingston, Nancy (Peter) Kent (nee Amos) of Waterloo, and Dan (Shannon) of Elmira. Grandmother of Leigh, Erin, Brian, Leah, and James. She is survived by the last of her eight siblings, Michael Krulicki of Sauble Beach. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Stella Krulicki. Mom had the quiet strength of a lion and loved her family, bingo, having her hair done weekly, and still had her dry sense of humour and that “Dorothy” look on her face when she passed. She was loved by everyone and made friends at church, the neighbourhood and still went out for her first Friday of the month lunch with “the girls”. The family would like to thank our mother's caregivers for the last two months, who were instrumental in her journey, including Bayshore Health and the PSWs; and Hospice Wellington, whose staff and place of peace we will never forget. A private family ceremony will be held at Memory Gardens in Breslau on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington (Guelph) or the Canadian Cancer Society.
