Obituary of Jim Kieswetter

Kieswetter, James (Jim) ~ Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the age of 65 years. Jim, of Winterbourne, is survived by his beloved wife Karen (Cassel) of 45 years. Loving father of Jamie (Terri) Kieswetter of Elmira, Terri Ann (Jason) Ridgers of Wellesley, Rob (Nicole) Kieswetter of Waterloo. Survived by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Remembered by his brothers Ed (Carol), Ken (Carol), Murray (Cheryl), sisters Ruth Ancich, Janet (Jim) Stockie, Linda (Dennis) Cassel, brother-in-law Fred Lefebvre, and sister-in-law Marianne Kieswetter. Predeceased by his parents Simon and Florence (Voll) Kieswetter, brothers Claire, Tom, and Paul, sister Shirley, brother-in-law Pete Ancich, and mother and father-in-law Elgin and Florence (Cybulski) Cassel. Fondly remembered by Karen’s family Jane and Jerry Dietrich, June and Bill Dudgeon, Gail and Ken Kieswetter, Kathy and Dennis Kieswetter, Chris and Ken Paul, Kim and Dennis Preikschas, Tony Cassel, and many nieces and nephews. Jim worked at Home Hardware for 40 years, and retired in 2015. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers offered at 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface RC Church, 1355 Maryhill Rd, Maryhill with interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. A special thank you to the Cancer Centre at Grand River Hospital. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Regional Cancer Centre (Grand River Hospital Foundation) would be appreciated.
