Obituary of Jean Hume

Hume, Jean ~ It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Jean Hume of Prescott. She passed in the morning of August 19, 2016 in her sleep at Barnswallow Place Care Community in Elmira, ON, at the age of 102. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Hume of Prescott and her sister Keitha McCargar of Ogdensburg, NY. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her son John Hume and daughter-in-law Elaine (Ward) of Conestogo, grandchildren Ryan (Sarah) of Elmira and Jennifer of Tofino, BC, and great-grandchildren Megan, Spencer and Sequoia. She will also be missed by her many friends in the Prescott area where she spent the majority of her life. She served many years as a Justice of the Peace in the courts throughout Eastern Ontario, where she developed many good friends and colleagues. It was the relationships she had with these friends, colleagues and her family that she cherished the most and nurtured her longevity. The family would like to thank these great friends for their support over the years. We would also like to thank Dr. Bhatt (Prescott) and Dr. Hahn (Waterloo) for the care they provided our mother, and the staff at the Mayfield Retirement Home (Prescott) and Barnswallow Place Care Community (Elmira) for their caring and efforts on behalf of our mom.
