Obituary of Sarah Brubacher

Brubacher, Sarah (nee Martin) ~ Peacefully passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Heritage House, St. Jacobs, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Emanuel Brubacher (2005). Dear mother of Mark (Ruth) of Toronto, Jim of Elmira, Mary Kaiser of Elmira, and Martha Wynn of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Erin and Caitlin; Kerri (Brad), Scott (Nicole), Ryan and Nicki; Barb, Derek (Caitlin), Andrew (Nikki); Jenny (Mike) and Deborah (Chris); and great-grandchildren Hunter, Skylar, Jaymz; Elim, Sita, Lillianna; and Owen. Sarah was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Veronica (Frey) Martin, six brothers and five sisters. Sarah was born on September 17, 1917 near Elmira. Sarah and Emanuel were married on March 19, 1940 and continued to live in the Elmira area until they moved to Vineland where they lived from 1948 to 1970. They then lived in Eganville from 1970 to 1984. Since then they have lived in the St. Jacobs area. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment will take place in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. In Sarah’s memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or St. Mary’s Hospital Cardiac Care would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
