Martin, Almeda (Gingrich)
Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016, at The Village at University Gates, Waterloo. Almeda Martin, born July 24, 1920, formerly of RR 4, Elmira. Loving wife of the late Milford S. Martin (Sept. 8, 2001). Dear mother of Jean (James Meekis) of Thunder Bay, Glenis Quill of St. Jacobs, and Doris (Amsey Weber) of Wallenstein. Lovingly remembered by five grandchildren, Glenn (Charlene) Meekis, Brian Meekis, Jason (Janet) Quill, Michelle (Neil) Frey, Sheri (Max) Shantz, 12 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters-in-law, Edna, Erma, and Ella Martin. Almeda was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by her parents Ananias and Rebecca (Gingrich) Martin, brothers Elo (Minerva), Urias (Helen), Edmund (Ruby), Ismael, Orlan, Almon (Irene), sisters Magdalena (Emerson) Lichty, Valina (Jacob Bauman) (Sidney Martin), Leah (Oliver) Lichty, and by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cleta (Cleon) Martin, Bernice (Lorne) Gingrich, Erla (Alvin) Gingrich, and Maurice Martin. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, where a family service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., then to Elmira Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. For those who desire, donations to Christian Aid Ministries or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Special thank you to the staff at The Village at University Gates for their loving care and kindness given to Almeda.

Visitation: Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home (62 Arthur St. S., Elmira) and Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the family home (7859 Wellington Road 45, Glen Allan) ~ Services: Private family service at the family home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 then to Goshen Mennonite Meeting House for burial and further public service
