Obituary of Joyce Hiemstra

Hiemstra, Joyce Anne ~ Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 69 years. Joyce Hiemstra (nee Noble) was the beloved wife of Andy Hiemstra. Loved sister of June MacMillan and Marie (Bob) Skerritt, and sister-in-law of Catherine Noble. Lovingly remembered by the Hiemstra family: sister-in-law Margaret (Arie) Haak and brother-in-law Frank (Anne) Hiemstra; and by the Noble and Hiemstra nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Russell and Retta Noble (nee Small), brother Glenn, brothers-in-law Keith MacMillan and George (Arlene) Hiemstra, and parents-in-law Sam and Henny Hiemstra. After a full career in Human Resources, Joyce enjoyed volunteering in her church and community. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Elaine Graham from Bloomingdale United Church officiating. Interment in Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery will follow with a reception at Bloomingdale Mennonite Church, 1151 Snyder’s Flats Rd., Bloomingdale. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
