Obituary of Theron Burgess
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, in his 90th year. Bud, formerly of West Montrose, was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Skelton) Burgess (2001). Loving father of Ralph and Audrey of Calgary, Alberta, Sue and Ron Emery of Elmira, Les and Sheree of Duntroon, Linda and Doug Mills of Wheatley, and Melanie and Bob Wiens of Waterloo. Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren (with another one on the way). Bud will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Minnie Dimock and Phyllis Harvey both of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Dorothy (Woodworth) Burgess, brothers Milton, Lewis and Ken, and sisters Patricia Turcotte and Judy Dykens. Bud was born in Nova Scotia and moved to Northern Ontario as a young man. He has resided in Southern Ontario for the past 45 years. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., where funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery and reception at the funeral home to follow. In Bud’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family would like to thank the staff at Barnswallow Place for the excellent care and compassion shown to our Dad over the past almost three years.
