Obituary of Delphine Stemmler

Stemmler, Delphine ~ Peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Melvin Stemmler (1975). Loved mother of John and Norma of Hanover, Ralph of New Brunswick, Ron and Joyce of Elmira, Doug and Jonna of Port Elgin, Mark and Karen of Fergus. Loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Jeff Stoops. Fondly remembered by Melvin’s siblings and their families. Predeceased by her two infant children, three brothers and four sisters. Delphine was a longstanding member of the CWL and formerly a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmira Branch 469. Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira. Spring interment will take place at St. Mary’s of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Hesson. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
