Obituary of George Snider

Snider, George ~ Passed away peacefully at KW Campus of Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the age of 89 years. George Snider, of Elmira, was the beloved husband of Beryl (Bennett) Snider for 59 years. Dear father of Valerie (Doug) Brenneman of New Hamburg, Syd (Cathy) of Elmira, Barry (Barbara) of Newmarket, Cheryl (Dave) Lee of North York, and Colleen (Tony) Weber of Ariss. Loved grandfather of seven grandchildren: Matthew; Megan and Steven; Kevin and Christina; Mercedes and Savannah. He is predeceased by his parents Milton and Adeline (Ritter) Snider. George was born and raised on the family farm on Floradale Road where he farmed for his entire working life. He was a lifelong member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Canadian Hereford Association for over 50 years. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 27 Mill St., Elmira. Interment will take place at Elmira Union Cemetery, with a reception to follow in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Elmira or the Parkinson Society would be appreciated.
