Peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Columbia Forest L.T.C., Waterloo. Ruth (Schweitzer) Ritter was the beloved wife of George Ritter of St. Jacobs for 66 years. Dear mother of Dr. Michael ‘Mike’ and Jenny Ritter of New Hamburg, Susan and Bill Cronin of St. Jacobs, Laurie and Rev. Graham Burkhart of New Dundee. Loving grandmother of Chad Ritter, Renee Ritter (Addae Headley); Bill (Tawnessa), Bob (Sarah), Ben (Daryl), Bryan (Jen), Brad (Krysta) Cronin; Jeremy (Crystal) Burkhart, Rachel (Mike) Braniff, Bethany, Joel and Jesse Burkhart. Special great grandma to her 19 great grandchildren. Sister of Mildred Heller and Norma Snyder. Also lovingly remembered by George’s family and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Louis and Violet (Durst) Schweitzer, and by her sister Vera Cress. Special thanks to the loving staff of Watson House at Columbia Forest. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. only, then on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. only. A family interment will take place in their family plot at St. Matthews Lutheran Cemetery, Conestogo followed by a memorial celebration of Ruth’s life and faith at Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church, Elmira on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. In Ruth’s memory, donations to Parkinson’s Society or Crossroad Christian Communication would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
