Obituary of Vernon L. Shoemaker

Shoemaker, Vernon L. ~ Vernon, of Elmira (formerly of Pilkington Township), passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 21, 2015, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Edna (Bowman) Shoemaker. He is fondly remembered by his four children, Doris (Stanley) Martin of Elmira, Daryl (Karen) Shoemaker of RR 1, Elora, Diane (Keith) Snyder of RR 3, Wallenstein, and Janet (Timothy) Frey of RR 3, Listowel. Also remembered by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brother of Erma Shoemaker, Marie Shoemaker, Alice (Walter) Freeman, and Orlan (Elsie) Shoemaker. Brother-in-law of Mary Ann (George) Bowman, Almeda Krieger, and Viola Lichty. Predeceased by his parents Alvin and Minerva Shoemaker, brother Delton, five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Visitation will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira, Monday from 6-8:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:30-4 p.m. A family service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 9 a.m., then to the North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. The family wishes to express appreciation to friends and neighbours for their prayers and support during these last few months.
