Obituary of John R. Cheeseman
Cheeseman, John R. “Jack” ~ Peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 88 years. Jack, of Kitchener formerly of Elmira, was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Ghent) Cheeseman (2008). Loving father of John and Carla of Waterloo. Devoted Papa of Mitchell, Tyler, and Emma. Jack was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by his parents Samuel and Emma (Knight) Cheeseman, his brother Ernie and sister Florence Hollman. Jack was postmaster in Elmira for 33 ½ years having retired in 1985, and was active in the Elmira Lions for over 40 years. At Jack’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Village of Winston Park, 695 Block Line Road, Kitchener on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. In Jack’s memory, donations to Lions Foundation of Canada for the Dog Guide Programs would be appreciated and may be obtained by calling the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
