Obituary of Amy Helen Kennedy

Kennedy, Amy Helen ~ November 11, 1929 – February 8, 2015 ~ After a prolonged illness, Helen passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre, Kitchener, at the age of 85 years. Helen, of Waterloo formerly of Elmira, was the beloved wife for 61 years of Dr. Keith Kennedy and proud mother of John (Jo-Anne) of Collingwood and Gail (James) Zippel of Elmira. Loving grandmother of Courtney (Drew) Turner, Alexis and JAK Kennedy, Erika (Michael) McGarr, Lisa (Phil) Brown, and Jeffrey Zippel. Dear great-grandmother of Harlow and Oliver Turner, and Theodore “Teddy” Brown. Sister of the late Laura Marshall of Winnipeg and Glen (Eleanor) Beattie of Owen Sound. Helen was a graduate of Dental Nursing U of T and Stratford Normal School. She taught in Brantford, Lethbridge, Alberta, Guelph, and Kitchener-Waterloo. She was a keen golfer, gardener, and bridge player. At Helen’s request cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service. Special thanks to Dr. Yew and nurses on Team 7 Palliative Care Partners. They have been an amazing support group. Helen dearly loved sharing her life with family and friends.
