Obituary of Klazina Wasylycia
Wasylycia (Nielsen), Klazina ~ It is with great sadness that the family of Klazina Wasylycia announces that Klazina died on January 1, 2015, at the age of 92 after a full life. She will be greatly missed by Harry, her husband of 67 years; by her six children: Elizabeth Macdonald (David), Mary Ann Wasylycia (Ken Coe), Judy Wasylycia-Leis (Ron), Andy Wasylycia (Deb), Neil Wasylycia (Ibolya), and Nancy Coschi (Frank); and by her 17 grandchildren: Greg, Dan and Brian Macdonald, Aaron, Scott and Trevor Coe, Nick and Joe Wasylycia-Leis, Sam, Josh and Emily Wasylycia, Ethan, Seth and Brynna Wasylycia, Alaine, Amanda and Ian Coschi; as well as eight great-grandchildren: Leo, Lillianna, Harry, Annie, Noelle, Elise, Claire and Blythe. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Janny Swijters and her family, and Margaret Lehman Wasylycia and Kathy Wasylycia. Klazina was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Nielsen-Koops in 1940 and her father Hendrik Nielsen in 1983. Klazina “Titie” took great pleasure and pride in her large family. Born November 7, 1922 in Assen, Holland, she left her family and country to emigrate alone to Canada in 1947 to marry Harry. They met while he was serving with the Canadian Army in Holland. She and Harry settled in Winterbourne where they lived until last November. She was a long-time member of Conestogo United Church, the UCW, and later West Montrose United Church. She was an active member in the Winterbourne Women’s Institute for over 50 years. Thanks to the staff at Leisureworld who gave such special care to Mom in her last days. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Klazina with the family at the Dreisinger Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Klazina’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. At Klazina’s request, donations to the United Church Mission and Service Fund are greatly appreciated.
Klazina’s death leaves a great void in our family and we miss her enormously.
