Obituary of Marjorie Bomby

Bomby, Marjorie (nee Hadden) ~ Marjorie Bomby passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at the age of 91 at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, with her family and friends close by her side. Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jan Jespersen (Gary Chard), her sons Rik Jespersen (Heather), and Jeffrey Dibble (Terra Thompson). Marjorie was the eldest of five sisters Jacqueline, Frances, Jeannine, and Norah. Grandchildren Reay Jespersen (Jaquie), Stephanie Hinton, Michael Hinton (Nichola), Tyler Dibble, Bryanne Dibble, and six step-grandchildren will certainly miss their fun-loving grandma, as will her many nieces and nephews. Marjorie was blessed to have three great-grandchildren Jakob Hinton, Poppy Hinton, and Laila Kieser-Jespersen. Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved son Peter Jespersen, and by her husbands Carl Jespersen, Robert Dibble, and Eric Bomby. Marjorie had a unique life journey for a woman of her era. She lived life to the fullest. Marjorie was an avid reader and learner, spoke many languages, loved tennis and basketball, enjoyed a game of cards, loved debating issues of the day, was a loyal friend, and a hard worker retiring from work at 75. Although Canada was her home she travelled extensively and lived for long periods of time in Denmark and Arizona. Three years ago Marjorie was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and it has been a long goodbye. Her family is deeply indebted to the loving staff at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre where she was respected and nurtured there. A memorial service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held at Elmira Mennonite Church (58 Church St. W., Elmira) on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. In Marjorie’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Leisureworld Family Council would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be made by calling the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira (519-669-2207).
