Bauman, James (Jim) ~ Passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on December 6, 2014 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 78 years. James (Jim) Bauman was the beloved husband of the deceased Alma (Halteman) Bauman. He was the loved father of Sandra Brubacher and her husband Glen, Carolyn Bearinger and her husband Ken, Phil and his wife Andrea, and was loving grandfather to Lyndon (engaged to Courtney), Lewis (Jenna), Kayla, Lorissa, Jocelyn, Latasha, Kieran, Rylan, Liam, and Cara. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Adin Bauman (Irene), and sisters Alma Frede and Mary Martin. He was predeceased by one brother, Addison. James graduated from university with a teaching degree. He first taught in Deer Lake, a First Nations Community in Northern Ontario, where he met his wife Alma. He also taught at Hawkesville, Riverside, and Wallenstein Schools. Following that, he spent many years teaching and supervising in the Parochial Schools in this area. He then worked as administrator at Wallenstein Bible Chapel for many years. He stayed actively involved at Wallenstein Bible Chapel until his passing. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Wallenstein Bible Chapel, 4522 Herrgott Rd., Wallenstein on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation at 2 p.m. will precede a public memorial service to be held at Wallenstein Bible Chapel at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014. There will be no viewing, as James requested donation of his body to a medical school for medical education or for scientific research. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the personnel at St. Jacobs Place, Dr. Gregor and the 5th floor PD staff at Grand River Hospital, and the Palliative Team at Freeport. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to SIM Canada (Serving In Mission) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
