Obituary of Alex Matulewicz

Matulewicz, Alex ~ Peacefully passed away in his sleep on Monday, November 10, 2014 at his residence in Kitchener. Alex, at the age of 92, was the beloved husband of Christine (Galley) Matulewicz for 45 years. Father of Randy and Rachelle Cooper of Mission, B.C., Angela Cooper of Ottawa, and Charlotte Russell of Airdrie, Alberta. Also survived by his grandchildren Ryan and Russell Cooper; Kristina, Patrick, and Stefany Mayer; Amanda and Jessica Russell; and his great-grandchildren Kayla, Leah, Sarah, and Jacob. Brother of Emil Matulewicz of Amsterdam and Theresia Keet of Surrey, B.C. At Alex’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service for family and friends will be held in the chapel at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Elmira Union Cemetery. In Alex’s memory, donations to the Bruce Trail Conservancy would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. A special thank you to John and Irene Stroeder for being very thoughtful neighbours.
