Obituary of Lovina Brubacher

Lovina (Weber) Brubacher ~ Peacefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, Waterloo. Lovina was born on March 3, 1921 near Waterloo, Ontario to the late Alvin and Lizzie Weber. In 1945 she married Tilman Brubacher who predeceased her in 1980. She is survived by her children Allan and Anna Brubacher, Alice (Allie) Brubacher, Eva and David Cressman, and Margaret Brubacher. She was predeceased by her son Elam (2011) and an infant daughter Martha (1952). Loved grandmother of Sharlene, Brian, Shirley and Brenda Brubacher, Sandra and Darren Gingrich, Mark and Allison Brubacher, Laura and Craig Fehrenbach, Amy and Drew Honderich, Janna Cressman, Jeff and Emily Cressman, Sara Cressman and her fiancé Dan Thompson. Great-grandmother to Brayden, Tristen, Emmalyn, Benjamin, Madison, Brooklyn and Josiah. She is survived by her sister Lydian Martin, her brother Enos and Hannah Weber, and her brother-in-law Ivan Martin. Predeceased by her stepmother Susannah Martin; brothers Abram (Elvina, Anna, Emma), Elam and Annie, Sylvester, and Sydney Weber; sisters Annie and Amos B. Martin, Melinda and Allan Martin, Rebecca Weber, and Lucinda Martin; brothers and sisters-in-law Amos Martin, John and Lovina Brubacher, Amos (Leah, Salome) Brubacher, Lydian and Henry Burkhart, Amy Burkhart, Adina and Anson Bauman, Onias Brubacher, and Ephriam Brubacher. Lovina was a longtime member of Hawkesville Mennonite Church where she was very active in the women’s ministries as long as her health allowed it. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at Hawkesville Mennonite Church, 15 Martha St., Hawkesville on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Erv Weins officiating. The casket will be open at the church from 12-1:15 p.m. when burial will take place in the Hawkesville Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee as expressions of sympathy. The family wishes to thank the staff of Columbia Forest LTCC, especially Anna and Arvin and their kind and caring staff on Breithaupt House, for their patient and loving care given to Lovina during the years of her stay there.
