Obituary of Alice Stephens

Stephens, Alice Gertrude ~ Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, in her 88th year. Alice (Ferris) Stephens, of St. Jacobs, was the beloved wife of the late John Stephens (1972). Loving mother of Beth and Dennis Bender, Marline Stephens, Joanne and Jim Cripps, Mossie Stephens, Jamey Stephens and Tug Gokaydin, Daryl and Sandy Stephens. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Mike (Jess) Bender, Cindy (Scott) Geffros, Tim (Candace) Bender, Jason (Aimée) Cripps, and Jeri (Paul) Buzny; her great-grandchildren, Jasper, Tyson, Zack and Tiana Bender, Emma and Ian Geffros, Olivia and Eric Bender, Lyon and Hudson Cripps, and Maeve Buzny; and her friend, Charles Clark. Alice was a strong woman who rose above all odds. She was always giving and never selfish. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Road, St. Jacobs on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Calvary United Cemetery, St. Jacobs. In Alice’s memory, donations to Deaf Culture Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
