Obituary of Ina Kieffer

Kieffer, Ina Marie (nee McLean) ~ It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of my mother on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital, one month after her 90th birthday. Loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survived by her daughter Sharon (Peter) Both. Dear grandmother of Angie (Mike) Soukup of Oakville and Natalie Both (Todd Turik) of Winlaw, BC. Loving great-grandmother to Riley, Alex and Ciel. Survived by her brother Gary (Marie) McLean of Owen Sound, and two sisters-in-law Isabell Sweeney of Durham and Marie Brown of Wallaceburg. Ina is remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband Walter Kieffer (2008), brothers Allen and Hugh, sisters Louise and Violet, and her parents Jim and Jennie McLean. Ina was born June 19, 1924 in Durham, married the love of her life Walter Kieffer in 1945, and was married for 62 years. Ina loved spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandsons. Ina worked many years in retail stores as a clerk. She enjoyed having her family over for Sunday supper because she was a great cook. Ina will be missed by her special friends, Judy, Julie and Regina. Special thanks to all the staff who took such good care of my mom at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira. Resting at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira, on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Elmira Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
