Obituary of Darlene Russell
Darlene passed away peacefully at Lisaard House in Cambridge on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Darlene was the beloved wife of Grant Russell, and mother of Pamela Smith (Greg), Gwendolyn Banton (Jason), Paul, and Tracy Woerner (Erik). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Rebecca, Timothy, Aiden, Leah, Zachary, Abbe, and Brooke. Survived by her brothers Raymond Wolfe (Patricia), Lorne Wolfe (Janet), and sisters-in-law Faye Rice (Peter) and Arlene Lang (Roger). Darlene was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Darlene was a Probation Officer for the Province of Ontario in her early years; in 1978 she became mom to her family, and that was her deep love for the rest of her life. Darlene lived a life of service to her Lord, to her church, and to her community, serving in various volunteer roles of administration and worship. Most recently, she was involved with Welcome Home (refugee support in Waterloo Region). A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Holiday Inn, 30 Fairway Rd. S., Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Welcome Home or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family and may be obtained by calling the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira (519-669-2207).
