Obituary of Agnes Kraemer

Kraemer, Agnes ~ June 2, 1933 – June 7, 2014 ~ Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Chemainus Health Care Centre in Chemainus, B.C. Beloved mother of Cliff (Cheryl), Cathy (Garry) Morgan, Joan (Greg) Walter, and Paula (Nelson) Zado. Proud grandmother of Dale McGavin, Pamela and Ryan (Jen) Kraemer, Kim (James) and Josh (Amanda) Morgan, and Becky, Madi (Mike), and Josie Walter. Cherished great-grandmother to Rukia Morgan, and Cole and Olivia McGavin. Dear sister of Mary (Bob) Flanagan, Gladys Libbus, Joseph (Karen) Stemmler, Gerard (Mary Ann) Stemmler, Anne (Terry) Ward, Theresa (Wilfred) Runstedler, Joanne Lemieux, Daniel (Carolyn) Stemmler, Bernadette (Gerry) Jantzi, Charles (Kathy) Stemmler, Jane Tielve, and Paul (Rita) Stemmler. Also survived by her brother-in-law Archibald Hummel, and sisters-in-law Jan (Jack) Moller and Gladys Raftis. Predeceased by her husband Sylvester (1967), son Kenneth (1977), parents Simon and Arilla Stemmler, and siblings Irene Hummel, William (Fern), John, David, and Michael Stemmler. Agnes farmed near Dorking with her husband Sylvester. When the love of her life passed away, she was only 34. In order to raise her family of five children, Agnes took a nursing course in London and became a RNA. She worked for over 20 years in the nursing profession. Agnes was a lifetime member of the CWL and a devoted churchgoer. She spent her last 35 years living on Vancouver Island. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy. For the last three years, Agnes was tenderly cared for by the staff of Chemainus Health Care Centre. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Elmira, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hesson. As expressions of sympathy, the family would gratefully appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
