Obituary of Lydia Martin

Martin, Lydia (nee Gingrich) ~ 1923-2014 ~ Safely Home on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Lydia, at the age of 91 years, of Elmira, was the beloved wife of the late Ivan M. Martin (1987). Dear mother of Edith Garber of Twin Falls, Idaho, Lucille (Robert) Burkholder of Cleveland, Ohio, Elaine (Derek) Holshorst of Waterloo, Murray Martin of Conestogo, Mildred (James) Martin of Kitchener, Anna Mae (David) McConnell of Townsend, and Sandra Nunn (Terry Rothwell) of Elmira. Also lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Lydia was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents Anson and Rebecca (Bauman) Gingrich, her sisters Viola, Ada, and Alvina, her brother Clayton, and her son-in-law John Garber. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. only. Family interment will take place in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Lydia’s life and faith will be held at the Elmira Pentecostal Assembly on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. In Lydia’s memory, donations to Chateau Gardens Auxiliary or the Pentecostal Assembly building fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Service Summary Visitation: Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home ~ Memorial Service: Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Elmira Pentecostal Assembly (290 Arthur St. S., Elmira) ~ Donations: Chateau Gardens Auxiliary (11 Herbert Street, Elmira, ON N3B 2B8) or the Pentecostal Assembly building fund (290 Arthur St. S., Elmira, ON N3B 3N4)
