Obituary of Floyd Kocher
Kocher, Floyd Francis ~ Passed away peacefully at Heritage House, St. Jacobs, on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Floyd Kocher of Riverside Glen Retirement Home, Guelph, and formerly of Heidelberg, was the loved father of Cheryl and her husband Moe, Jan and her husband Tom. Dear grandfather of Shannon, Todd (Melissa), Shawn (Beverly) and great-grandfather of Isabella, Matthew, Katie, Ryan, Benjamin, Claire, Chelsea, and Lindsey. Brother of Patricia, Bernice, Clayton (Shirley), Marjorie, Edward (Shirley), Shirley, Orville (Sharon), Douglas (Judy), Ronald (Marion), and Gary (Cheryl). Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Rosetta (Klein) Kocher, his sister Celestine, and his brothers Joseph, Harold, and Lawrence Jr. Floyd was a member of St. Clement’s R.C. Church in St. Clements for many years. He served overseas in the Second World War with the Canadian Army and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo Branch 530 for 55 years. He was a member of the Linwood Rod and Gun Club and the St. Clements Lions Club. Floyd came home from the war to work for Sunar Industries until his retirement in 1984. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Clement’s R.C. Church, St. Clements, on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
