Obituary of Austin Whittom

Whittom, Austin ~ May 30, 2000 – February 7, 2014 ~ After a hard fought and courageous battle with leukemia, our hero, Austin passed away at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He leaves behind his mother and step-father, Jen Whittom and Joe Driscoll of Elmira; his father and step-mother, Todd Whittom and Amanda Strauss of Kitchener; his brothers and sisters, Nathan, Brayden, Brianna and Emily. Also lovingly remembered by his grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Austin’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 10 from 7–9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, February 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Elmira. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. Interment will be in Elmira Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Child Life Fund at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.
