WEBER, ‘Isey’ Israel ~ Died peacefully in the arms of his loving family on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton, in his 78th year after a courageous struggle with cancer. Beloved husband of Sally (Metzger) Weber of Elmira. Loving father of Andy of Heidelberg; and Tony and his wife Colleen of West Montrose. Devoted Opa of Mercedes, Savannah and Matthew Weber. Dear brother of ‘Pete’ Enos Weber, Kitchener; Amsey (Ruby) Weber, Elmira; Urias Weber, Elmira; and ‘Ike’ Isaiah (Avis) Weber, New Liskeard. Dear brother-in-law of Martin (Barb) Metzger, Waterloo; Harold (Donna) Metzger, Waterloo; Lena (Rod) Uttley, Elmira; and Martha (Don) Jewitt, Elmira. Dearly remembered as ‘Uncle Isey’ by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Judith (Bauman) Weber, and sisters-in-law, Helen and Edna Weber. Isey and Sally owned and operated I. Weber Construction Ltd. in Elmira for 35 years. Isey enjoyed many activities with his family which included travelling, motorcycling and cottage life. Isey and Sally co-founded the local chapter of the Canadian Friends of Chernobyl’s Children. Isey could be found many afternoons scooping ice cream at their B&B, Olde Bridge Place, in West Montrose. Isey enjoyed being Captain of their boats and was an avid snowmobiler. Isey’s generosity and reliable friendship will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (No visitation on Wednesday.) Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Elmira Mennonite Church followed by interment in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to MCC and would be appreciated by the family.
