Obituary of William Cassel

Cassel, William Jerome (Bill) ~ Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on December 1, 2013 at Hospice Wellington, in his 81st year. Beloved husband for 61 years to Theresa (Diebold) of Elmira. Father of Debra Powell (Robert McNichol) of Listowel, Daniel of Ft. St. John, B.C., Thomas (Wendy) of Deroche, B.C., Steven (Connie) of Drayton, Frank of Ft. St. John, B.C., Philip (Darlene) of Ft. St. John, B.C., William Jr. (Diane) of Grand Bend, Elizabeth Cassel of Palmerston, and Jeffery (Michelle Powell) of Kitchener. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Brother of Art (Elsie), Elgin, Mary Cybulskie, Lloyd (Maria), Joe (Cheri), and Sheila Etmanski. Predeceased by his parents Herbert (1972) and Coletta (1999), brothers Edmund, Leonard and Murray, and sister Doris Hahn. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph’s R.C. Cemetery, Macton. In Bill’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Teresa R.C. Church Renovation Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
