Obituary of Alma Bauman

Passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Saturday October 12, 2013 at Grand River Hospital’s K.W. Health Centre, Kitchener, aged 83 years. Alma (Halteman) Bauman was the beloved wife of James (Jim) Bauman of St. Jacobs. She was loved mother of Sandra Brubacher and her husband Glen, Carolyn Bearinger and her husband Ken and Phil and his wife Andrea and was loving grandmother to Lyndon, Lewis (Jenna), Kayla, Lorissa, Jocelyn, Latasha, Kieran, Rylan, Liam and Cara. She is also lovingly remembered by brothers Linford, Elvin, Ralph, Floyd Halteman and her sister Irene Hackman. She was predeceased by two brothers Allan and Claude and two sisters Edith Schmidt and Sarah Geissinger. Alma graduated as a nurse from Grandview Hospital, Pennsylvania. She worked as a nurse in Pennsylvania and then spent 5 years as a Community Health Nurse in Deer Lake, a First Nations Community in Northern Ontario. Following her marriage to Jim, she served as a Red Cross Homemaker in the Waterloo Region. Service Summary Visitation: Wallenstein Bible Chapel, 4522 Herrgott Rd. Wallenstein, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private family interment service will take place at Hawkesville Cemetery on Wednesday October 16, 2013 followed by a public memorial service at Wallenstein Bible Chapel at 2:30 p.m., reception to follow in the church hall. ~ As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Intercede International (www.intercedenow.ca, 201 Stanton Street Fort Erie, ON L2A 3N8) or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (835 King Street West, Kitchener, ON N2G 1G3, www.grhf.org)
