Obituary of Abner D. Gingrich
Gingrich, Abner D. ~ Went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2013, at 73 years of age. Loving and devoted husband of Annie (Shantz) Gingrich for 50 years. Beloved father of Janet (John) Martin of Thamesville, Jerry (Rita) Gingrich of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bonnie (Rick) Bauman of Drayton, Calvin (Charlotte) Gingrich of Elmira, Sherlyn (Stephen) Horst of Drayton and Jason (Miriam) Gingrich of Glen Allen. Fondly remembered by his 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Harvey (Erma) Gingrich, Alma (Alva) Martin, Esther (Earl) Bauman, Marie Weber and sister-in-law Marlene Gingrich. Predeceased by his parents Alvin and Melvina Gingrich, brother Oscar Gingrich and brother-in-law Lorne Weber. Abner was ordained as a minister in 1981 and served faithfully at Calvary Conservative Mennonite Church. Abner’s passion for the spiritual well-being of people will always be remembered. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira, on Monday, October 7 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, Hawkesville, on Wednesday, October 9 at 1 p.m. followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to C.M.C.O. India Mission or F.I.R.E. International, for grandson Tony serving at an orphanage in the Philippines.

Visitation: Sunday, June 17th from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday, June 18th from 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home ~ Services: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 - Family Service: 9 a.m. in the funeral home chapel - followed by Public Service: Goshen Mennonite Meeting House
