Obituary of Rodger Milliken
Milliken, Rodger H. ~ Passed away at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Rodger Milliken of RR 1, Elmira was the beloved husband and friend of Doris (Farley) Milliken. Loved father of Kathy Milliken and her husband Larry Edmonds of Sarnia, and Andrew Milliken of RR 1, Elmira. Loving grandfather of Sarah (Brian) Maxfield, Stephanie (Sean) Smith, Stacy (Michael) Shields, Andrew J. Milliken, and eight
great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ted (Carolyn) Milliken, Marnee Ewasko, and brother-in-law of Ralph (Sheila) Farley. He was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Ben Milliken. Rodger taught High School in the Waterloo Region for 31 years, retiring as a principal in 1986, and has been a member of the Elmira Lions Club since 1958. There will be a gathering in the church hall at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Drive, Elmira to honour and celebrate his life on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at the Cardiac Unit of St. Mary’s General Hospital for their special care, and the staff and volunteers at the Leisureworld Day Program in Elmira. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada or Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
