Obituary of Valina Martin

Martin, Valina ~ Peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Heritage House, St. Jacobs at the age of 95 years. Valina was born in Woolwich Township on July 24, 1918 and lived in the Floradale, Elmira area for most of her life. Dear sister of Lucinda Martin of Wichita, Kansas, Viola Martin of St. Jacobs and “Butch” (Floyd) Martin of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Kathleen Snyder, Stuart Snyder, Brenda Hallman, Don Hoffman, Phyllis Schmidt and Kelly Martin, and by their families. Predeceased by her parents Blandina (Gingrich) and Seranus Martin, siblings Lena (John) Snyder, Elmer (Mabel) Martin, Ida Martin, Naomi (Ephraim) Hoffman, Willard (Melba) Martin, sister-in-law Ethleen “PeeWee” Martin, nephews James Snyder and Larry Hoffman. Valina was an active, lifelong member at the Floradale Mennonite Church. At Valina’s request, cremation has taken place. There is no funeral home visitation. A celebration of Valina’s life and faith will be held at the Floradale Mennonite Church on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 4 p.m. In her memory, donations to the Floradale Mennonite Church or MCC would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
