Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Keane
Peacefully passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Chateau Gardens L.T.C. Elmira at the age of 88 years. Betty Keane, of Elmira, was the wife of the late Charles Keane (1979). Dear mother of Frank and Brenda Keane of Elora, Pat Garton, Jim and Nadine Rhodes, Mary Haefling, Irene and Bob Brown, all of Elmira, Arlene Bateman of B.C., Ken and Bev Keane of Kirkland Lake, Kathie and Walter Plein of Elmira, Theresa and Rick Krause of Port Elgin, Charlene and Rob Berscht of Elmira, Martin Keane of B.C., Tammi Keane of Kitchener, Helene Stumpf and Perry Baker of Elmira. Betty is lovingly remembered by her “umpteen” grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Charlotte (Byers) and Michael Shortell, son Dan Keane, daughters Rita Bryant and Valerie Johnston, step-sisters Mary McFerran, Gladys Sayner, Hazel Keenan, step-brother Leo Shortell, and partner Jack “Jake” Hass. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home Thursday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, Elmira on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. In Betty’s memory, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Mental Health would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
