Obituary of Mahlon Shantz

Shantz, Mahlon ~ Passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, of Wiarton, formerly of Arthur, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife Grace (Graham) Shantz. Dear father of Catherine Stallwood of Ridgeville, Marvin and Cathy Shantz of Georgetown, Margaret and Mel Rinehart of Wiarton, Maureen and Dean Figliola of Brantford, Rod and Sue Shantz of Hamilton. Also lovingly remembered by his eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Ephriam and Lucinda (Martin) Shantz and four siblings Naomi Good, Lorne, Ruth Good, and Willard. The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Good officiating. A private family interment will be held following the service at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. In memory of Mahlon’s life, donations to MADD Canada or World Vision would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Gateway Haven in Wiarton for their loving care over the past two years.
