Obituary of Opal Chambers

Chambers, Opal (nee Lavery) ~ Passed away peacefully at Chateau Gardens, Elmira on December 22, 2012 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Chambers (2004) for 61 years. Loving mother of Tom and Debbie Chambers of Midland, Carolyn and Robert Smyth of Hamilton, Sue and Duane Buehler of Kitchener. Dear grandmother of Tracey, Murray and Tanya Chambers, Ryan and Kurtis Willicombe, Sarah and Matthew Feeney, Jordan and Mitchell Buehler. Great-grandmother of Nathan, Skylar and Slater Chambers. Opal will be sadly missed by her sister Lois (Glen Gabel) of Guelph, sisters-in-law Bernice Lavery of Port Moody, BC, and Rose Chambers of Elmira. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Pemberton and Jean (Denny) Lavery, three brothers, Lloyd, Graham, Verdun, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Anna Chambers, Glen and Marie Chambers, Russel Chambers, Ray and Marie Chambers and Arlee Chambers, sister-in-law Betty Lavery (Schaefer) and a son-in-law John Feeney. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Trinity United Church, Elmira from 11 a.m. until the funeral service time at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dave Jagger officiating. Interment will follow in Elmira Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Chateau Gardens, Elmira, Arlene her caregiver, and the rest of the staff at Home Instead for their excellent care and compassion shown to Opal. Donations in memory of Opal’s life may be made to Trinity United Church, Elmira or a charity of your choice.
