Obituary of Eli M. Martin

Martin, Eli M. ~ Passed away peacefully at Chateau Gardens LTC on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the age of 107 years. Eli Martin was the beloved husband of the late Lauretta Martin (2002). Dear father of Lloyd Martin of Elmira, Eileen Frey of Elmira, Delphine Wideman of Wallenstein, Ruth Ann Bauman and her husband Grant of West Montrose. Loved grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Brother of Henry Martin and his wife Marcella. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Delphine Martin (2012), sons-in-law Lawrence Frey (2011) and Harold Wideman (2009), great-granddaughter Jennifer Martin (2009), his parents Nancy and Isaiah Martin, three sisters and one brother. Eli was formerly an active retailer in the Wallenstein and Elmira communities. The family will receive their relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira. A funeral service will be held at Elmira Mennonite Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Menno Homes or Chateau Gardens Auxiliary. Service Summary Friends may call at the home of Mahlon Martin, RR 4, Elmira, on Sunday, July 29th from 2-5 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30th at 9 a.m., then to Conestogo Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.
