Obituary of Alex Strauss

Strauss, Alexander I. ~ Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, in his 94th year. Alex Strauss was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Gordon) Strauss. Loved brother of Caroline and her husband Leo Hicknell of Kitchener, Joseph and his wife Dianne Strauss of St. Clements. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Ottilia (Ditner) Strauss, three sisters Aurilia, Luvina Kraemer and Matilda Haid, five brothers Felix, Clements, Leander, Albert and Linus. Family and friends will be received at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Elmira. Interment will take place in St. Agatha RC Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
