Obituary of John Wagner
John Allan Wagner ~ Passed away peacefully on May 17, 2012 after a valiant struggle with multiple myeloma. Loving husband and best friend of Dorothy (Lasch) Wagner for 59 years. Devoted father of Brian Wagner, Susan Wagner-Campbell, Richard and Janet (Bettke) Wagner, Brenda and Trevor Schott, all of Elmira, and David and Gabrielle (Fischer) Wagner of Waterloo. Cherished grandfather of Erin, Holli, Julie, Johnathon, Michael, Marlowe and Walker. Survived by three sisters Beatrice Witzel of Waterloo, Verna Nelson of Elmira and Myrtle Capling of Courtenay, BC, one brother Paul and Nancy (Brunkard) Wagner of Guelph. Also rememberd by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Allan Wagner and Edith Mohr, one sister Mabel Koch, three brothers-in-law Verlus Witzel, Stanley Nelson and Walter Koch. Many thanks to Drs. Stevens and Norris and all the wonderful caring people at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Care Partners Jane and Nancy, and Hospice Wellington. Also a thank you to Rev. Dave Jagger and Pastor Frey for their support. At John’s request there will not be a visitation. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Elmira. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Trinity United Church Mission and Service Fund would be greatly appreciated and may be made by contacting the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
