Obituary of Jerome Schumacher

Schumacher, Jerome Oscar ~ On Monday, March 12, 2012, in his sleep. Born in 1923, at Kitchener, Ontario, Jerome was predeceased by his loving spouse of 64 years, Norma Irene Schumacher on February 27, 2012. Jerome is survived by four children, Paul (Lynn) Schumacher, Brian Schumacher, Mark (Janet) Schumacher, and Becky (Donald) Allison. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher (Lori) Schumacher, Jonathan Schumacher, Steven, Andrew and Ryan Schumacher, Connie (Korbin) Purchase, and Julie Allison, and three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ella and Owen Schumacher. Also survived by sisters Helen (Norm) Dutka and Janet (Howard) Glover, sister-in-law Joan Schumacher, and brother-in-law George St. Cyr. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Rose Schumacher, his brothers Lorne and Ralph, and sister Lorraine. At Jerome’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. The family wishes to invite all relatives and friends to join us for a memorial service for both Jerome and Norma on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Reception to follow. A private family committal service will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home (519-669-2207).
