Obituary of Edna S. Martin

Martin, Edna S. ~ Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in her 87th year. Edna Martin (nee Metzger) was the beloved wife of the late Elam G. Martin (1983). Dear sister of Elmer Metzger of Wallenstein, Alice Metzger of Elmira, Amzie and Ethel Metzger of Kitchener, Noah and Doris Metzger of Elmira, and sister-in-law of Katherine (Katie) and Evald Carlson of Linwood. Also lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Sydney and Lovina Martin, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Noah and Irene (Snyder) Metzger, brother Joseph (1991), brothers and sisters-in-law Onias, Elvina, Magdalena, Lydia, Amos, Mary, Susannah, Minerva. Edna was a faithful member of Knox United Church in Glen Allan until it closed. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday, March 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Glen Allan Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or CNIB. Thank you to Edna’s friends at the Dunke Street apartments in Elmira for your loving assistance to her over the past years and to the Cardiology Department at St. Mary’s Hospital for the care given to Edna during the last week.
